Cannot type numbers into some fields, such as property taxes and medications. Anyone else have this issue?

I've found the answer--I have to use the Tab button to get to the fields and type in numbers on some pages.  No rhyme or reason why it's necessary on only some pages but at least I can now fill in numbers and complete my return.

Sometimes my computer is slow.  So the program takes time to load.  Just wait; it will probably lag behind and show it on your screen.

Try using a different internet browser.

This is really annoying.  It appears that Turbo Tax won't let you type in fields where they have decided you don't have any federal deduction available (like certain property taxes and medical expenses).  So you can't type in the fields, even though you need the information for your state taxes.  I keep having to go between the actual forms and step by step to complete any of these fields.  I have been totally unable to type in those fields in Turbo Tax Premier using step by step.

@judy.greenberg

AS long as it is not a Blank screen, and you are using Desktop software on a Windows computer..

AND Especially if you are seeing a "$0" in that field that you cannot change
see if this fits  (and there are a couple solutions too):

Thanks, I think it may have been the supporting details issue.  I had already completed my taxes by going to forms to complete new supporting detail info.  Hopefully by next year they will fix the bug.

You can't tab to the property taxes field.  It's the only thing on the screen.  It has $0 pre-filled for me.  I want to change it but I cannot type into the field.

@keichenbrenner

IF you are using the Desktop software.....double-click on the $0...and a Supplemental Details Worksheet shows up for you to make the entry.   That S.D. worksheet is something you used on last year's tax return, and it transferred in empty into this year's forms.

I have found that with Windows 10 and using desktop Turbotax Deluxe 2021, hitting Ctrl-Tab will allow me to enter data. Hope that helps!
