Can you claim business mileage deduction if you're not itemizing, just utilizing the standard deduction?

As a W2 employee?

If you are a W-2 employee and want to claim business mileage as an unreimbursed employee business expense, the only way to do it is to itemize deductions. Unless the total of all your itemized deductions is more than the standard deduction, you will get no tax benefit.
