Can I use TurboTax free if I live in a foreign country but owe no taxes?

If you earned any income from the US or from a foreign country, you will need to use at least the Deluxe version of TurboTax.  If you did not earn any income at all from anywhere, then you do not need to file a US return.

If you are a US resident or green card holder then you have to pay tax on your worldwide income no matter where it is received or where it is earned.  You can use the foreign earned income exclusion and/or foreign tax credit to help offset double taxation.
