Can I use standard IRS miles deduction this year instead of listing expenses

I did not do as much work as I did before so I did not spend as much

You can deduct mileage instead of deducting actual expenses any year if you used the standard mileage rate for the first year that you used your vehicle in business. After the first year, you can switch between the two depending on which gives you the largest deduction.
