Through my employer, we only have the option of medical with no Vision or dental coverage. Can I use my HSA funds to pay my monthly premium for dental insurance if I get coverage through my state’s health plan finder? (Washington state) How about vision premiums? Mainly just need a lot of dental work that I cannot afford and looking for any kind of options that might help me out of my predicament. I need dentures and have several teeth that will need surgical removal over basic removal as they’re broken down below the gum line.
Yes, you can use HSA funds to pay for premiums for dental insurance, IF you are sure that the premiums are not being deducted somewhere else (it doesn't sound like they are).
See "Medical expenses include the premiums you pay for insurance that covers the expenses of medical care" Since dental expenses are considered medical expenses (for the type of expense you are referring to), this is allowable.
The same with vision insurance premiums. Please see IRS Pub 502.
