I got solar panels in 2024 and will have a large (section 25D) Residential Clean Energy Credit (30%), and even some carry forward to 2025. But I'd also like to replace my water heater with a hybrid heat-pump water heater. That should lead to a (section 25C) 30% credit, but this 25C cannot be carried forward. Will I be able to apply the 25C credit first for 2024, and then use less of (and carry forward more of) the 25D credit into 2025?
