Can I get mortgage deduction if my home is owner financed? If so, what do I need as far as paperwork because he is not going to be sending me a 1098?

Amount of the loan

Loan must be secured against home

His or her SSN that the interest is paid to

Amount of the interest paid in each tax year it is claimed.

You need to have documents to show the IRS should they ask to see this information.
