Can I get a tax credit for solar system I own an install on property I’m renting from someone?

I bought solar panels and equipment, but had in storage until landlord gave approved I can install to  my apartment. Solar installed and used all of 2023.

Yes, tenants are allowed to take the solar credit.

You may claim the residential clean energy credit for improvements to your main home, whether you own or rent it. Your main home is generally where you live most of the time. The credit applies to new or existing homes located in the United States.  Who Qualifies

Would I still be Eligible if half the equipment were used or secondhand equipment that I bought and installed?

Maybe. Energystar is a government agency with details for every year and credit. You will have to see if the items you  purchased in 2023 qualify.
