Can I file my property taxes in MN in February without my property taxes paperwork? won’t receive that until mid March

I have my proposed property taxes statement for 2025 that also shows actual for 2024. Can I use that figure to enter into my taxes now?

It is recommended to have all of your tax documents together before filing your tax return. However, if you have the information required to enter your property taxes in TurboTax for your Minnesota state tax return, you can enter it now.

When you receive your actual statements, you should compare the numbers with what you have entered.

If TurboTax has calculated that the Standard Deduction is best for you, you may opt not to wait.

Thanks for the reply. My follow up question is:

can I submit my State and Federal taxes now and then go back into Turbo Tax and file my property taxes when my property tax papers are available?
Thanks

Please be aware that TurboTax does not "file your property taxes" .

TurboTax asks for, and may use property tax for a deduction on your federal return.

Some states also have credits based on your property tax paid in the year.

Still other states have credits that are entered on a separate "stand-alone" form, such as some renter/Homestead credits.

No. For the tax returns, you cannot file and then go back and adjust later.

If this is for something other than a tax return, the answer would depend on what this other thing is.
