Can I file a deduction for catching a Lyft to work every 3 days to unload the truck for the job?

That was the only way that I could make it to work at 2:00 am in the morning.

Employee business expenses are not deductible any longer ...  and commuting costs were  never deductible when it was.

Sorry commuting has never been deductible.  And employee job expenses are no longer deductible either.

Some states will give you a credit for job expenses if you itemize, although federal will no longer count it.  Go to Deductions & Credits->Job-Related Expenses. Once you enter in an occupation and click a few screens you'll see a screen that says "Tell us about  these expenses for your [job]"  there is a place for "Parking, taxi and bus expenses".
