Can I deduct property tax portion of vehicle registration fee even if I am choosing the standard mileage deduction?

TT asks for and deducts it on "other vehicle expenses" page but IRS pub 463 says: If you use the standard mileage rate for a year, you can’t deduct your actual car expenses for that year. You can’t deduct depreciation, lease payments, maintenance and repairs, gasoline (including gasoline taxes), oil, insurance, or vehicle registration fees."

So why is TT asking for the property tax portion of vehicle registration fee and deducting it if entered when I elected the standard mileage deduction?

Yes, the property tax portion (plus tolls and loan interest) are still deductible even if you use the Standard Mileage Rate.
