Can I deduct payments to government from military related debts? I got a form and not sure where to enter it on my deductions list.

It depends on the type of debt repayment.

If the military debt relates to medical expenses or a loan for a home mortgage, when you may be able to claim an itemized medical or home mortgage interest deduction related to the repayments.

However, all other types of personal debt repayment (such as repaying a personal loan) will be consider nondeductible expenses by the IRS.
