Can I deduct part of my cell phone expenses as a doordasher even if my plan isn’t in my name but I pay my part of it? I know I can only deduct the business use percentage

I just started doordashing and I know that you can write off part of your cell phone plan as a business expense. Can I still do this if the plan is in my mom’s name? She has paid for the phone until recently, but I just turned 18 and I now pay for my part of the plan. Can I write this off or would I have to get my own plan?

Yes, you can deduct the business portion of your cell phone bill.   You don't need your own plan, but you have to separate out the details of your business portion from the personal use.   You need to keep detailed records of all of your business expenses in case of an inquiry.
