Can I count a day care deposit as dependent care if my child wasn't born until 2023, but I put down the deposit in 2022?

I paid a deposit of $2830 in order to secure a spot in the day care before my child was born.

Since the child was not born in 2022 they could not attend a day care facility in 2022.  So you cannot claim the dependent care credit on your 2022 tax return.
