Can I claim Xcel Energy Windsource as a Qualified small wind energy property cost?

Hi,

we pay extra each month on our Xcel Energy bill for a voluntary program called Windsource. The wind turbines are not on our property, but we are making additional payments for 100 kWh blocks of wind power.

Does this qualify as a "small wind energy property"?

No.

This is a personal expense.

As there is no investment, you are not eligible for a Home energy credit.
