Can I claim meals that I purchased during work hours, for work purposes such as working through dinner, if I don't have specific receipts, only bank statements?

Sorry, but no.  The only personal meals that are deductible as a self-employed individual are meals while traveling away from home OVERNIGHT, or some meals when working with clients or potential clients.

Meals you're having while working in your normal workplace are not tax deductible.

I'm retired living off income from investments and Social Security.

Last year I funded a Short Film production, of which I was an active participant.

I've filled out all of the business expense categories provided by TurboTax, but have a question about meal expenses for the cast and crew.

I provided all the meals and associated provisions (water, snacks, etc.) for the cast and crew while on the filming location (7 days).

Can this be considered a 100% expense deduction?

Thanks !

Yes, meals provided for the staff are the type of meals that are 100% deductible.
