Can anyone tell me why I am not getting a credit; I entered the information regarding the windows I replaced; Turbo Tax told me I didn't qualify for a credit rebate.

The windows are energy star rated.

The windows that you replaced would qualify for the energy credit. But you may not be able to use the credit on your return. The energy credit for Windows is a nonrefundable credit. If you are receiving a refund, the credit will not increase your refund. The energy credit is only used to reduce your tax liability (the amount that is owed).

Please see this from the IRS

Q2. Are the credits refundable or nonrefundable? (added December 22, 2022)

A2. Both the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit and the Residential Clean Energy Property Credit are nonrefundable personal tax credits. A taxpayer claiming a nonrefundable credit can only use it to decrease or eliminate tax liability. A taxpayer will not receive a tax refund for any amount that exceeds the taxpayer's tax liability for the year.
