Are we allowed to use actual gas receipts instead of mileage ?

That's the way I've always done it.

When claiming vehicle costs, you can opt for the actual expenses method or the standard mileage method.

If you opt for the actual expenses method, you can deduct the business portion of all your vehicle costs including gas, maintenance, insurance, depreciation, etc...

When you use the Standard Mileage deduction, you can’t deduct individual expenses for your car.
