Are orthotic inserts deductible?

If the inserts were medically necessary to maintain your health, you can deduct as an itemized medical expense on schedule A.

The total medical expenses will need to exceed 10% (7.5% for those born before 1/2/52) of your AGI to receive a benefit. You can always enter your medical expenses and TurboTax will determine if you meet the thresholds. +
