8915A and 8915B are showing up in my final review as an error. I can not seem to delete these forms. I did not have any distributions for hurricane disaster.

Can not delete 8915A and 8915B forms.  They show up as an error in the final review.  I did not have any distribution of annuities in 2016 or 2017

Did you have one or more 1099-R's in 2018? If so you may have run into a Step-by-Step issue that has since been fixed that may have caused those forms to activate. If you have any 1099-R's then edit them again in Forms Mode, scroll down to the Qualified Disaster Distribution Smart Worksheet and delete any entries in there. You can then delete those forms and they won't come back.

I think there is a 1099-R in the Personal Income section along with how the questions were answered that caused the 8915 forms to be generated.  How I deleted them was (since I don't really have disaster related situations that required stimulus payments-may be only COVID) to go to the upper left corner of the TurboTax window and clicked on "Forms".  There will be a list of forms in the left pane that your return has generated.  Look for the 8915 forms and on the actual form in the right pane enter bunch of "0" (zeroes).  The exclamation marks on the the 8915 forms will disappear and you will not be seeing the error message after you reviewed your taxes.  But again check your disaster situations to make sure the amounts are correct in your 8915 forms.  If they don't apply then enter all zeroes.  Hope this helps.

To delete individual forms, please follow these steps:

TurboTax Online

  1. While in your return, click on Tax Tools > Tools (in the black bar at the side of your screen).
  2. In the Tools Center, under Other helpful links click on Delete a form.
  3. Click Delete next to the form you want to delete and follow the onscreen instructions.
  4. Once you have finished deleting the desired form(s) click the Continue with My Return box (in the lower right of your screen).

TurboTax CD/Download

  1. Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar
  2. In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click on the form you wish to open and delete.
  3. Click on the Delete Form box at the bottom of the screen.
  4. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.

The form (8915A-T) im needing to delete is not listed on my forms. I looked in my 1099-R and redid that to eliminate any hidden disaster distribution. "Qualified 2016 disaster retirement plan distributions" is still showing up, ugh!!! Please help!!

I'm having the same issue. Spoke with 2 customer services reps that assured me they would escalate this. Nothing has been fixed. Form is hidden in the programing somewhere. Form not listed to delete but shows up when I look at the printed version of my return.

Same EXACT thing is happening to me. I cannot E-file because “You have Form 8915A or 8915B or 8915C or 8915D, Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments in this return.”

There are No 8915 forms in my return in the forms list, BUT when I go to print my returns, there is a 8915A form from 2016 there.

If I can’t e-file because of a TurboTax bug, can I get a refund on the money I spent on this program?

This is an presently an active ongoing investigation.  Some TurboTax Online and CD/Download customers are experiencing an e-file issue and have received an error stating Form 8915A-T is unavailable.

We’re currently working to resolve this issue. If you’d like to receive progress updates. Please view this link and select sign in to get follow up notifications and we will email you once the issue is resolved.

The link says “Solved”. Does that mean the issue has been solved with the latest update?

It is not solved. Just checked my return today.

There should be a page in the step-by-step section of your return where you can answer the question about disaster distributions with 'No'.  If you entered any Form 1099-R in your return you will have already seen that question one time, but there is another one out there for users who did not enter any Form 1099-R information.

Please try the following steps if you are using TurboTax Online to see if the error message will clear:

  • Go to Federal on the left side of the screen
  • Go to Wages & Income at the top of the screen
  • Scroll to the bottom of the section without making any changes and click Wrap Up Income
  • Continue moving forward until you see a question about whether you took a disaster distribution in 2020 and select 'No'
  • Run the Federal Review again to see if the error has cleared

Please try the following steps if you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax:

  • Go to Wages & Income at the top of the screen (or Personal > Personal Income)
  • Click I'll choose what I work on
  • Scroll to the bottom of the section without making any changes and click Done with Income
  • Continue moving forward until you see a question about whether you took a disaster distribution in 2020 and select 'No'
  • Run the Federal Review again to see if the error has cleared

If you have tried these steps and you did not see a question about the disaster distributions in 2020, then repeat the steps for the Deductions & Credits section of your return until the question is located.

Thanks for the input. I tried that and it did not fix the issue.

I spent 5 hours running through these exact steps with 3 reps. No one can tell me when they will fix the program and they advised me to mail in my return. If the system is generating the incorrect forms then I can’t count  on my return being accurate. TT also refused to refund me so I can go elsewhere even though it’s your software that bugging.

What is still happening?  There are not any Form 8915-A or 8915-B in the TurboTax 2022 program, only a Form 8915-F.
