2023 e-Filed Foreign Tax Credit Form 1116. Made Mistake in Part II (i) Date had "name of country" instead of Date !

Greetings !

Will my refund get delayed while IRS finds and corrects this mistake ?

The IRS Interactive tax assistant for "Should I file a amended return ?" determines no need as I have not yet received a notice, or filing status has not changed or no changes to income, deductions and other things.

e-filed 2023 return with Foreign Tax Credit Form 1116 on April 9th 2024 and it was accepted by IRS.

Today I noticed I had made Mistake in Part II (i) where it entered "name of country" instead of Date ( 12/31/2023) !  my prior year returns had correct end of year date in this field as the taxes were paid throughout the year.

Neither Turbotax Desktop Home and Business not IRS efile validated this error !

Thanks and Regards !

I would wait and see if you get a letter from the IRS about this.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.

Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund:
When will I get my federal tax refund?
How do I track my state refund?
Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
