2018 Tax Deductions

Regarding the 2018 new Federal Tax Laws, if a deduction has been deleted by the Feds can it still be deducted from my California State Tax Return? i.e. Investment Management Fees, safety deposit fees,

We will claim the Standard Deduction for our Federal return but will itemize for California State return.

Looks like CA is going to make an adjustment form to include those deductions!

A new Part III will be added to Schedule CA (540) for California only deductions and for those deductions expected to be removed from federal Schedule A but still deductible for California such as job expenses and miscellaneous itemized deductions.

Most States have not figured out what they are doing yet, so I suspect we all need to wait a few more months to see what the State Legislators decide to do.
