1098 my name is not on it can i claim the interest if i help pay the mortgage?

My fiance and I bought a house last year. I was possibly switching jobs during the loan process so they recommended leaving my income off the application. Now my name isn't on the 1098 form  but I help contribute to the mortgage payment. Can I claim the interest as well?

You can enter the interest paid only if you are also liable for the debt.   

If you are on the loan, and not on the 1098 then make sure the total interest deducted by the two of you only totals up to 100% of the total interest paid.  If you are not on the loan then you cannot deduct any interest.
