Please see the link below to look up your estimated tax payments as reported to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

WI Department of Revenue Estimated Tax Lookup tool

You will then be able to compare the amounts they have on record against the amounts reported on your state income tax return in TurboTax.

WI questions on Estimated tax payments

Once you determine what the correct amounts are, you can make your corrections in TurboTax as follows and proceed to file your state return again.

You can enter your payments in the federal section of the program.

  1. Select Deductions & Credits
  2. Scroll down through All Tax Breaks and select Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
  3. Select Estimated Tax Payments
  4. Select State estimated taxes for 2020
  5. Select Yes to indicate you did pay estimates for 2020
  6. Proceed to enter your payments as applicable

Thank you so much!  I was able to fix the problem with these instructions!

Already e-filed Federal. This was accepted. WI e-file rejected. So I fixed problem & tried to e-file again. TT Deluxe won't let me e-file WI without Federal. What do I do?

Parenthetically, this is the first time I've needed help using TT, & it's turned out to be a big pain in the you know what. Digital assistant worthless; leads me into a circular set of suggested questions & answers. It would be a lot easier & quicker, I think, to talk to a human being.

TurboTax is investigating the issue with not being able to e-file the state after e-filing the federal.  Here is an updated article:
