Will I get fined for still being on my moms medi-cal plan?

Hello, I live in California and turned 26 on 08/2021. My mother, my little sister and I have all been under the same medi-cal plan under covered California. When I log into Covered California and review our account it says I am covered til the end of 2022 under my mothers plan, but will need to choose a new plan to receive coverage in 2023. I still live with my mother and am working part time until I can find a better job. I started working in December 2021 and made around $653 that month (I have around $350 per month now), so I am also unsure if I will even be required to file taxes this year. If I do have to file, will i get fined for having insurance under my mothers plan?

If your total income in 2021 is $350, then you are not required to file a tax return for 2021. There is no fine for still being under your mother's health insurance policy in 2021.

If you are an employee making $653 on a form W-2, you are not required to file a tax return as your earnings are still below your standard deduction of $12,550.

If you had federal or state tax withheld, you can file a Federal and/or state return to get a refund of tax withheld.
