Why is Turbo Tax counting Interest income twice on Michigan 1040

Why is Michigan 1040 adding Interest Income to the AGI from the federal 1040, when it’s already included in that AGI ?
On my Michigan Tax return (line 10) it is bringing over my AGI from the federal return, which includes all my interest income. Then on the very next line (line 11) it shows all my interest income, then adds it to line 10 to come up with “Income Subject to Tax” (line 14).

Can anyone explain ?

Hard to say without seeing the actual tax return.

Review the Michigan  Schedule 1 Additions and Subtractions to see what entry has been made that transferred that amount to the Michigan 1040.

There may have been an adjustment made in the Michigan state income tax return software.

View the entries at Tax Tools / Tools / View Tax Summary / MI Tax Summary.

View the entries at Tax Tools / Print Center / Print, save or preview this year's return / Include government and TurboTax worksheets.
