I live in Florida. TT pushed me again and again to download Florida as my free state. There is no Florida Income Tax for most people. Why does TT keep pushing? How about giving me the option to stop it by inputting some checkbox that I am not required to file Florida Taxes?
Some Floridians who are in business have to a Form DR-405 Tangible Personal Property Tax return. That's why TurboTax asks you about a Florida return. This is not an income tax return. TurboTax includes it for convenience for those who need it.
If this situation does not apply to you, tap Done with States.
Or you can select the Review tab and move along.
Done with states is not enough. TT keeps on reminding you. Just add a button "not required to file Florida states"
FLORIDA
Florida does not have a state income tax. You should have skipped the FL tax unless you own rental property in FL or a FL based business.
Florida has a tangible personal property tax form that is used in a Florida-located business or rental property and is filed with the county property appraiser by April 1st.
If you do need to file a Form DR-405, nothing will print (except an instruction sheet) unless assets were transferred or you manually entered assets in the DR-405 worksheet.
If you do not have tangible personal property to report, choose
Skip State in the State Taxes section.
If you proceeded past the warning screens, try deleting the Florida return --> https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900608
