Where do I locate the itemized deductions for self employed on the home business version of turbo tax? It only asks about deductions for w2 income which I don't have.

Hi Justme,

If you'd like to include income or expenses related to self-employment, TurboTax Self-Employed is right for you and can help get every dollar you deserve.

While in your return, follow these steps:

  1. Type “business expenses” in the Search box.
  2. Select Find (magnifying glass).
  3. Choose the “Jump to” link and you'll be taken to the section to enter necessary information
  4. If you say "yes" to this type of expenses, you'll then be prompted to upgrade to our Self-Employed product
  5. Accept the offer to upgrade and you'll be guided through the process

Best,
