Where do I add South Carolina tax deduction for full-time firefighters?

The state of South Carolina offers a tax deduction for full-time firefighters and EMS personnel where you may deduct $5 a day for each regular workday in a taxable year. I'm not sure where to file this deduction

Yes, $8/ day. Follow these steps:

  1. As you go through SC, you will come to a screen that says,
  2. Here's the income that SC handles differently.
  3. Scroll to almost the bottom, to Public Service.
  4. Click on the Subsistence Allowance,
  5. start.
  6. Enter the number of days you actually worked.

Subsistence allowances of $8.00 per regular workday are allowed for police and all commissioned law enforcement officers who are paid by South Carolina municipal, county, or state governments or the federal government, and full-time firefighters and emergency medical service personnel.
