TurboTax will ask about adjustments when you are entering your stock transaction. Check the box "I have other boxes on my 1099-B to enter" to enter a wash sale amount.

An adjustment in the cost basis will show up in column G if you check the box "The cost basis is incorrect or mission on my 1099-B" and adjust the amount in Box 1e.

Hank you for your response but this is for a 1099 S so the input screens are different. And although the summary shows a place for adjustments when I go into Edit the input there is no place to enter the adjustment and select code N as the explanation to appear in a form 8949.

Keep going:

  1. After you enter the sale, the next screen asks Any of these less common items?
  2. Wash sales, market discounts, etc, blank Done
  3. Was this sale of employee stock
  4. No, continue
  5. Select any less common adjustments
  6. Select some (or all) of the proceeds for this sale do not belong to me
  7. Box drops down, leave blank if none of the sale belongs to you. If partial, enter the nominee portion of the sale in the box.
  8. Continue

Thank you for your help but I had to actually use the CD/Download version of TurboTax to be able to do this.  Im not sure why but that is what I was told.
