What's the "Bribery Question" on the NYS tax return?

I ran the smart check and it prompted me to choose one of the following:

Bribery Question - yes

Bribery Question - no

What's up with that?

This question asks if you have a conviction under New York State Penal Law Article 200 or 496, or section 195.20 and you are required to answer for certain credit eiligibility.

Thanks.  So it was a TurboTax glitch?  I ultimately chose "Bribery Question - no" which hopefully means I'm stating I was never convicted of anything.  Because, regarding to your response, I was asked nothing of the sort...  just:  "Bribery Question - yes" OR "Bribery Question - no"

No means that you were not convicted.  Let me check where the question is in the program, I'll post an update when I find it (or if I don't)

Thanks again MaryK1! I totally trust you that it was a question. I just wasn't asked it in a way that made any sense. I'm guessing a glitch as it didn't appear until I ran the "Smart Check"

I am interested to know myself- I know the question is on the return, but not sure how it is asked in TurboTax.  I am still looking but in the meantime, you are fine to file.

It still asks the same question in 2018 and when I go to the worksheet I cannot find any sign of the question.

Turbotax apparently does not ask this question in the state interview

Hi, How do I get back to the bribery question, i think I accidently clicked yes instead of no.

Thanks

FYI, I was just asked this same question on my 2022 NYS return.  It is very confusing, because there is no context around the question, and no easy way to find it in the dialogues  (short of going through every single one).  This could definitely be improved.
