What date to enter on 2022 tax form for 2nd quarter estimated taxes when I make TWO payments?

I forgot that CA has a ridiculous 30/40/0/30 estimated tax schedule and on 6/12 paid only 25%. I used FTB chat and asked if I can make a 2nd payment - answer was "yes", and if so which date do I enter for the payment since the 2nd payment will be a day later. She said "both dates".  It's my recollection, that there's one line item on turbotax and room for one date. How do I handle this?

If you are using a desktop version of TurboTax, you can enter the additional payment in Forms Mode on the Tax Payments Worksheet.

In Step-by-Step, you can also enter additional payments (see screenshot).

Just enter the other one in the third spot.  You can keep adding dates and make more than 3 or 4 payments.

Thanks VovloGirl,

Do you mean put the second 2nd quarter payment in the unused 3rd quarter box? Or do more boxes get generated on demand by TT?

You can keep adding dates paid.  Just fill in the next box.  The quarter doesn't matter.

Wow, thank you both for quick, complete  and accurate responses!

One final question, I submitted payment yesterday, Sunday 6/12 which probably means they won't process till today 6/13. Am I better off waiting till 6/14 or 6/15 to make the 2nd payment?  Just trying to do my best to not "confuse" their system.

if you wait, you will be late,

payment has to be "in" by the due date.

Hi Fanfare,

I was suggesting waiting till 6/14 (tomorrow) or 6/15 (deadline day) only.

thanks.
