What address goes on a joint return if spouses are in two states?

My spouse and I are going to be divorced in 2018 but as of 12/31/17 we are still married and we will file joint returns for 2017.  In addition, I moved my permanent residence from GA to MD in September, 2017.  My spouse remained in GA for all of 2017.  I know we file a joint federal return, but should I use my MD address or our GA address - where my spouse still lives today.  How should I answer the state resident questions?  I have GA income and MD income and my MD employer sent my W2 to me with my MD address on it, of course.  My spouse has only GA income.  We do not itemize.  Will TT automatically create part year resident forms for the state returns even though I was the only one who was a part year resident?  Do I do the GA state first?

Doesn't matter ... choose the place where you would want a letter from IRS to go in the future.  Who lives where & has income from where doesn't make a difference ... just a valid mailing address is required.

As to the residency questions ... where do you still have your residency?  Where is your DL & voter's registration still valid ?    As to the non resident or part year resident return they will be a bit tricky but if you follow the program interview you should be ok.

I got my Maryland DL and am registered to vote in MD now - I got it in January, 2018.  I will use the MD address on the Federal joint return so I assume I must use the same address on the two state returns.  It really should be part year resident (not nonresident) for me for GA and MD as for 2018, and in the future I will maintain residence in MD.  My spouse is remaining in GA and by the time we file for 2018 we will both file as single.
