We are married filing jointly. My wife never lived in IL but I was a part year resident of IL. My return says she lived in IL and requires me to mail in to file, Why?

Wife and I filing jointly. I was a part year resident of IL in 2018. She was not. My return is telling me I have to mail in my IL return because she didn't pay IL taxes. She never lived in IL so she should never have to pay IL state taxes. How do I correct this?

You may need to file your Illinois Part-Year Resident return as 'Married Filing Separately' to not include your wife's income
