I recently called (case [social security number removed]) because I filed federal taxes without filing state, and when I went back to file state, I ran into a loop in the program that would not let me file. Your representative said that what needed to happen is for the IRS to accept my filing. The IRS would then alert you, and you would reset the program such that I could then file state taxes. I was given a link to check the IRS website for when my taxes would be approved. The IRS website says the refund has been approved, but has not been sent yet. (Expected Wednesday.) Do you have what you need for me to file my state taxes yet, or do we wait for the refund, or ?
No you don't have to wait to get the refund or even for federal to be approved. Just for federal to be Accepted. Sounds like it has been accepted if the IRS has it. Are you using the Desktop program? There is a recent State Efile error in the Desktop program. Please sign up on this FAQ
