TurboTax Business 2020 is forcing me to complete a 502A Virginia tax form for non-resident filings. The form is not appropriate as we are 100% resident. This has never happened in prior years. I deleted the form, but it regenerates.
I think others are experiencing the same. Has anyone solved?
Spent 2 HOURS on the phone to attempt to resolve this issue. The ultimate outcome of the phone call was to receive links to new TurboTaxBus software downloads for fed and VA. I really didn't believe a new download would accomplish anything so I did not install the "new" software (I'd already run the update feature anyway - I'm sure my install was current.)
Ultimately, after completing the Fed and VA returns in TTBus, I opened the "Forms" view and deleted schedule 502A. I verified that it had no impact on my primary forms being submitted for VA. After deleteing I was able to submit electronically to VA. Hope this helps you out, good luck.

This did not work for me ... Form 502A does not show up in the list of Forms in Forms View. How do I get past this invalid glitch?
Thank you! I was second guessing myself if I had forgotten this form in prior years. I will continue to delete the form and move forward.
I have the same problem. I can't delete the 502A worksheet, it doesn't show up under forms. And 502 is required for all PTEs, so I can't delete that.
From the Forms VIew, I could not see the form either. I then selcted the Errors! Tab next to it. When the error cam up on the screen their is an choice to delte form. I deleted the form and it came back with "No Errors"
Thanks so much. I realized that I have to just delete the 502A as it appears in forms view and not click around to 502.
Well done "team world". I was able to delete the unwanted form via form view and complete the process without errors. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the suggestion to delete the form - it worked. Any way too report this bug to Turbo Tax?

Thank you, this solved the problem- to delete the form 502A.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worked for me. Went to forms then Errors and deleted the form.
Not sure why the program is forcing this on us. Needs to be fixed!!
This worked for me as well. Thank you! Why can't Intuit fix this problem before the file deadline for Businesses? This is unacceptable!
I am having a similar problem with VA 502A. The program won't allow me to electronic file until I complete the form. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to override this form? Thanks
Deleting Form 502A didn't work for me because the form doesn't appear in my forms list. Does anyone have another possible solution? Very frustrated.
Go thru the steps to e-file it. Once you reach the screen where it prevents you from e-filing because it's calling for 502A, click continue. Click continue again to get to 502A. Then go to Forms. You should see it there and be able to delete it. Once deleted, go back to step-by-step. Do not click on anything and go straight to File Return screen and follow the steps again. It worked for me just now.
Thank you so much for the answer about deleting the 502A. I spent hours on this. You cannot efile with this error and you are only allowed to file Va via e-file. I was almost in tears!
Thank you!!!! When I tried to efile my return it kept going in loops and kept showing me that 502A form. So, I figured it was a bug in the program and I called turbo tax for help. I then spent a couple hours on the phone with them just like you did. I showed him that when I tried to efile my return it kept going in loops and kept showing me that 502A form. I was told that I was missing the VA account number... which I've never had! I called VA tax and found out it's just 38 followed by your fed ID and then F001. I hoped that would fix it, but I still kept getting the 502A forced on me when not applicable. When I went to open the form and deleted it, my return went through with NO problem! Yahoo.
I just realized all these posts were from 2021! I'm having the same issue for my 2022 return in 2023. Why hasn't this been fixed in the program?
