Unemployment

My state residence is WI however I received a 1099G from MN for unemployment I collected due to COVID.  My total MN unemployment compensation was $1942.00 with $74.00 federal tax withheld & $36.00 MN state tax withheld.  This is my only MN state income for 2020.  In pervious years I worked in MN paying MN tax due to no reciprocity with WI.  In 2020 my office moved home & WI stste income tax was withheld for the time I was employed.  I entered information from my 1099G on my 2020 tax returns however I'm unsure if I also need to file a return with MN. Thus far I've completed a return for Federal & WI State.

Please advise

If you only lived in Wisconsin in 2020, then you could file a Non-Resident State Return to Minnesota, reporting only the Unemployment Income. You would get your Minnesota state tax refunded to you.

However, since the Filing Requirement for Minnesota is $12,400, you would not be required to file a return there.  Keep the 1099-G for your records.
