Unclear about CA 562 and 3522 amounts due (LLC is registered outside of CA)

My LLC is registered in Oregon, and has sales in California, so we also filed there and filed form 568.

Turbo tax says we owe $0 to California, but in the papers to manually file say:

"California requires a waiver when form 568 is not e-filed Request a waiver at [url]. Along with the tax return, enclose a check or money order in the amount of $800 for the balance of tax due.

Also enclosed is California Form 3522, [XYZ LLC's] Limited Liability Company Tax Voucher for 2020. Along with the form, enclose a check or money order in the amount of $800."

So do I definitely owe the $800 for 568? And another $800 for 3522, even though the 3522 is a voucher?

I'm unclear on what money actually needs to be send in. Thanks for any clarification.

You must pay only one $800 fee for the LLC.

Thanks!

To be clear, is that for the 568?

If so, what's the 3522 about?

I am having the same trouble. I also read other posts from others that state that TurboTax was able to generate Form 568 when they were filing but who knows. I will attach the thread for that post at the end of my post.

Here is some of the information I found.

Form 3522 is a form used by LLCs in California to pay a business's annual tax of $800. All LLCs in the state are required to pay this annual tax to stay compliant and in good standing. When a new LLC is formed in California, it has four months from the date of its formation to pay this fee.

An LLC can use a tax voucher or Form 3522 to pay its required annual tax. This form is filed with the California Franchise Tax Board annually for all registered LLCs in the state. Besides the annual tax of $800, a business will have to file Form 568 if it has grossed $250,000 or more during the year.

I hope this helps.
