Unable to find "New York County" as an option from the pull down menu of these counties listed from "Find New York County".

Are you referring to the screen at the beginning of the New York State interview in TurboTax that is headed "Tell Us Your New York County" (note, the wording may vary between TurboTax versions). If so, do you see the statement, "Select New York City if you lived in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, or Staten Island"?

 

Or are you talking about a different screen? If so, can you tell us where it is in the interview?

that does not show up from the pull down menu???

Are you saying that you do not live in Manhattan? New York County and Manhattan are coextensive (i.e., have the same boundaries). 

 

"New York County is also known as Manhattan. The county consists mostly of Manhattan Island and includes small islands, as well as Marble Hill on the mainland." See this New York State website.

Just double-checked with someone, I should choose "New York City" .  Thanks!

The program is looking for a NY county that you lived in.  Return to the NY state interview to select your county.  Here are the steps:

 

1. Click "Your State Returns" in the left-hand menu
2. "Continue" NY
3. "Continue"
4. "Update" the "General Information" section
5. "Continue" and verify residency information to arrive at page titled "Tell us your NY County"
6. Select your county from the dropdown menu
7. "Continue"
8. Select School District
9. "Continue"
