Unable to Efile for texas LLC using Turbotax Business

I'm trying to submit my LLC taxes through turbotax business, but it keeps on saying my webfile for state tax is supposed to be XT#. But on the paperwork I received from the state, it says it's FQ#. Each time I submit the finalized paperwork, it brings me back to a review.

Texas assigns users two WebFile numbers: one for Sales Tax and one for Franchise Tax.

  • The WebFile number for Sales Tax begins with RT.
  • The WebFile number for Franchise Tax begins with XT.

Be sure the WebFile number you enter for state tax e-file begins with RT.

So I had my house’s deed transferred to a llc (rental property), why would my submission be a “sales tax” as opposed to a franchise tax? My cpa had told me I would need to file a 1065 and franchise tax for Texas. I went ahead and inquired further of for my file number. Thank you for the response.

it is not that they gave you one code over the other, because of the type of activity.  You just have to be pro-active in getting the XT number. You will need the FQ number to get the XT number
