I assume the program is asking for the zip code on the 1099-INT.

Is there a zip code for the Payer listed on the 1099-INT or was the interest reported on a different form?

I don't see where PA Schedule A Interest Income asks for a Postal Code.

Thanks for your reply.

1. I did not even see PA Scedule A as I was in the final review process and this was a question from Turbo Tax itself.

2. The question was basically to fill in the POSTAL CODE for Pennsylvania.  I at first took this to mean some special code \.  I did nknow where to find that code.  I then tried the 5 digit zip code, as you suggested. The box only accepted 2 digits.  I reached out to Turbo Tax and was called by one of your staff.  She basically had no idea and told me to contact the PA state Treasurers office or s'some other state government agency.  Very frustrated.  I suggested that Turbo tax should know this info as just a small bit of data and a list of the 50 states plus D.C. would be easy to research and have a link to help us out here on the street.

3.  I then took a wild chance and put in "PA" and that cleared up the log jam and the state return weas complete.

4.  Now for my customer complaints, only one of which applies to Turbo Tax:

a.  Why does PA need you to indicate on their tax return that state Pennsylvania is in?  Downright stupid.

b.  Why doesn't Turbo Tax address this issue if your software is asking this question????????   Ditto my 2 word comment at the end of "a." above.

If you wasnt to contact me about this, please do so.  Elswhys, I remain,
