TT isn't allowing me to complete a part year VA resident return after I completed a part year SC return. It says I must file MFS (federal return is MFJ). Then it just says to follow a link which goes to these discussion boards. Help!

If your spouse was not a VA resident then VA says you will need to file a married separate return for the VA resident spouse.  Here is the VA reference.    

If you both were VA residents then you should revisit the "My info" section and verify residency states/dates for both of you to match.    

This didn't answer the question.  How do I use turbo tax to file in Virginia if I need to file married file separately?  I'm military  my wife is Virginia resident but I am not.  As the first post  said TT just takes me to this page.

@Pontioususda You will need to do a mock federal return of MFS. You can create a new return with a new account or you can use the desktop version. You can find full instructions here.
