Too few characters allowed for job Occupation in state form versus Federal form

There appears to be a discrepancy in the field length for job Occupation between Federal form and State form (Utah). I had used 24 characters on the Personal Information Worksheet. The entry works fine for the federal forms (Federal Information Worksheet, but must be shortened to about 18 characters to remove an error showing up on the Utah Information Worksheet.

so shorten the fed to 18 characters or less.    the limitation is the state not TT but TT could have done the programming so only the the first 18 characters from the fed would transfer to the state.

Sorry I wasn't more clear as I wasn't really asking for a solution, I already applied your answer to remove the warning, and have been able to complete and file the return. I was merely trying to report the problem so Intuit could fix their error, and more importantly post a resolution for helping anyone else who might have stumbled into the error, so they searched for it, they could find a solution would have a work around.

Thank you!

The occupation you enter on your tax return has on effect on your tax return. It is not used in any calculations when your tax return is processed.  This applies to your state return as well.
