The state name and state ID while filling 1099-B is payer's state or recipients state?

I am a Non resident filing taxes in Sprintax. I am being asked state name and state ID to fill 1099 form. Should i add state ID of payer or recipient ?

The Payer is the person/bank/institution issuing the 1099-b.  They know what your SSN/Your TIN is

Thank you for your answer. I have used robinhood for stock trading. So can Robinhood's TIN  be used as both federal id number and state id number?

I would believe so, since they issued the 1099

Hi @pragnareddye , I have the same situation. I'm using Sprintax and I have a 1099B from Robinhood. Did you end up entering the TIN of Robinhood in the StateId number box? Thanks!

If you are required to enter a state ID number when none has been provided, generally you can enter the Federal ID number in the state ID field.
