The federal was filed electronically because i hit print on the state and it says mail in does that mean it was not electronically filed will this hold up my Federal??

This will not hold up your Federal return. Once you change the option from paper file to electronic file, you will be able to electronic file your New York return.

Even if you must paper file your NY return, it will have no impact on your accepted Federal return.
