taxable missouri income for new resident

We moved to MO in Oct 2020 from Il.  All of our income last year was from pensions which aren't taxed in Il.
Although we only  were residents in MO for two months, the turbotax program is counting the entire year's income.  When I file the Il form and it shows I owe no tax, it looks like I won't get credit for having lived there for 10 months.

In the My Info section, be sure you indicated that you lived in another state (IL) during the year, and enter the date you began living in MO.

On your part-year resident MO tax return, allocate to MO only the retirement income you received after you became residents of MO.

Since Illinois exempts nearly all retirement income from taxation, including Social Security retirement benefits, pension income and income from retirement savings accounts, then you don't need to file IL tax return if your only income was from pension.
