State tax is asking for income earned during incarceration but I haven't been incarcerated, how do I update this on my state taxes to properly reflect that fact?

Go back to your W2 in the federal section.  On the screen after the W-2 number entries double check to be sure there are no check marks in the box that say I earned this money as an inmate or in a half way house.
