State Tax: I thought that one state is included at no additional cost when I purchased Turbo Tax. Why am I being asked for money to put in my one state?

Were you able to start the state return?  Are you being charged 44.99 to buy a state program or the 24.99 to efile a state return?  What version did you buy?  Basic doesn't come with a free state program.

You get one free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state return (including the first one) is 19.99 to efile, usually goes up to 24.99 March 1. Or you can print and mail state for free.
