State tax form error

My state return is not deducting the state taxes I paid even though the amount is listed on my federal return and on the first sheet of my state return.   Help!

Yes, if you have any entries in boxes 15-17 then all fields must be entered. Glad to hear it worked out. 🙂

The state taxes that you paid would not be deductible on your state tax return. If you itemized your federal deductions, then they are added back on your state return.

I figured it out.  Line16 on my W-2 didn't have any taxable wages listed.  A payroll error that greatly affects my state tax refund.
