State estimated taxes - how on turbotax

Good Morning. So I finished my tax return and queried turbotax so I could fill out the 2023 estimated tax forms for federal, but I forgot to do this for state. Would my state (CT) return automatically ask me about estimated taxes if I needed to pay them since I do for federal returns (some 1099 income in 2023)? Or do I need to open up my return again and query the system directly to do this? Last year I did it on paper myself, which was super fun. Don’t really want to do that again. ( I do realize my 1st ES tax Payments are due April 18…I scheduled them for federal).

Thanks all! DocTaxMama

TurboTax asks about state estimated payments toward the end of the state interview, but if your state estimated vouchers were not included when you printed your state return, you will need to go back in to get them.

  1. Log into TurboTax, scroll down to 2022, select Add State.
  2. Click Edit to the right of your Connecticut return.
  3. Continue until you get to A few things before we wrap up your state taxes.
  4. Click Start to the right of Estimated Taxes for Next Year.
  5. Answer the first question Yes and fill in the rest of the section with your estimated income.
  6. Keep going until your get to the Payment Vouchers screen.
  7. Click on Tax Tools at the bottom of the left side menu.
  8. Select Print Center below that.
  9. Click on Print, save or preview this year's return.
  10. Select the option to print just Form CT-1040ES.
